Eight days before nomination papers were due, I found out one person was about to walk into an open seat with no competition. In a democracy, people deserve a choice, so I ran. As the only woman running to represent Somerville in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, a body that is only 30% women, standing up matters now more than ever.

Somerville is where I grew up and where my family has lived for four generations. I earned a mechanical engineering degree from UMass Amherst, taking time off to care for my father through the cancer that took him, a cancer his doctors linked to pesticides still sold today. That loss is a large part of why I'm running.

I've waited tables, worked as an assistant plumber, and served in Governor Healey's constituent services office, where I cut through bureaucracy to help thousands of residents through housing, unemployment, and healthcare crises. Most recently, I taught as a substitute  teacher at the Kennedy School in Somerville

Somerville deserves a representative who has lived the challenges our neighbors face. I'm ready to listen, work hard, and fight for real change, together.
