About OGC
I'm running for State Representative in my hometown, the 27th Middlesex District because Somerville deserves a representative who has lived the challenges our neighbors face and knows the systems that too often leave people behind. I'm ready to listen, work hard, and fight for real change - together.
Somerville is where I grew up and where my family has lived for over a hundred years. After waiting tables and earning a mechanical engineering degree from UMass Amherst, I worked in Rep. Denise Provost’s legislative office. I went on to serve in Governor Maura Healey's constituent services office. There, I cut through bureaucracy and helped hundreds of residents navigate state agencies, and find real assistance.
I built a reputation at the State House and with the residents I served for leaving no stone unturned to find solutions. Today I'm a full-time substitute teacher at a Somerville public school.
My father was killed by pesticides, which drives my commitment to protecting the health and safety of our families.
At your service,
Olivia GC

Focus Areas

HOUSING
Somerville is where my grandmother was born and where I was raised and it's becoming a place working people can no longer afford. I'm committed to expanding access to affordable housing so that service workers, teachers, caregivers, and longtime residents can stay in the community they built.
ENVIRONMENT
Growing up in Somerville, where streets are named after nature (Elm, Willow, Cedar) while the natural world is being harmed by human greed. My father passed away from cancer doctors believe was caused by pesticides still sold in stores today. Environmental protection is deeply personal. As State Representative, I will fight to bring urban tree canopy grants and rail trails to Somerville, ban toxic pesticides from our communities, and ensure that the state acts with the urgency this moment demands, because we cannot wait for the federal government to protect us.

EDUCATION
As a teacher I see every day how technology is reshaping childhood, and as an engineer I understand both its power and its risks. I'm committed to making sure every child in the 27th Middlesex has access to a world-class education that builds critical thinking and social skills, and that prepares them for the economy that's actually coming.
HEALTHCARE
Growing up in Somerville, where streets are named after nature (Elm, Willow, Cedar) while the natural world is being harmed by human greed. My father passed away from cancer doctors believe was caused by pesticides still sold in stores today. Environmental protection is deeply personal. As State Representative, I will fight to bring urban tree canopy grants and rail trails to Somerville, ban toxic pesticides from our communities, and ensure that the state acts with the urgency this moment demands, because we cannot wait for the federal government to protect us.
